Bazooka BTA10200 BT Series 10-Inch 200-Watt Amplified Tube Subwoofer Review

Bazooka BTA10200 BT Series 10-Inch 200-Watt Amplified Tube Subwoofer
Average Reviews:

Ok first, the sound quality is very sweet. Very smooth and very deep bass without becoming "tubby", where the woofer hits and causes a "deadening sound" or bottoms out. This sub sounds just great. I have a hatchback and usually you don't "need" anything more than 8" but anything smaller than a 10" just cannot push as much air, which affects the "thump factor".
I purchased this way knowing that I can always grow with this sub and that you can always turn it down. It was only about $40 more than the 8" at 200 watts (I bought through Discount Jungle for $215). I have this set up with my factory deck which is really good for stock, but my deck has only 2 preouts (front, rear, and no separate sub control). I knew this going into this purchase, but assumed that the gain control and crossover would allow me to adequately to control it's sound. However, it is MUCH harder than I thought. This gain control is strange. Normally, you would be able to turn it all the way down for no bass and turn it up incrementally as you please. Well, all the way down on this sub does not stop the bass, it just takes it to it's lowest setting, which is still very strong and still too much for certain types of music. I have done some tweaking with the deck and produced a decent compromise with the sound so I am mostly happy, but the gain control was a big bummer and I am constantly adjusting the deck with the music, looking for my sound.
With all that being said, I HIGHLY recommend this sub if your deck has 3 preouts, that way you can control the sub independently of the other speakers and not lose bass from them, which creates a much better sound. This would also negate the retarded gain control function. The lack of bass control with a 2 preout deck would be easier to swallow if the gain control went lower than it is set for and you should be able to create a good sound that you would not need to adjust alot.
I plan on getting an aftermarket deck anyway, so it is not that huge of a deal for me, but don't get this sub if you are not prepared to upgrade your deck to allow for separate control. Also note that an 8 inch sub may/probably still have this problem. (based on my having a 5 1/2 inch, 50 watt powered sub in my old truck, that made great bass)
All in all, besides the gain control, you cannot beat this sub for the quality, construction, price and the convenience of not having to buy or install a separate amp and be able to simply unclip the tube if you need extra room.

JVC KD-AVX44 El Kameleon Vehicle Multimedia Receiver w/ 3.5" Monitor Review

JVC KD-AVX44 El Kameleon Vehicle Multimedia Receiver w/ 3.5 Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was searching around trying to find something that I could use as my central "media" center without having to install a mac mini in my Pt Cruiser.
My needs were/are: Ipod integration (including video playback), Dvd Playback, CDs, Bluetooth and of course am/fm. After a long hard search of single-din units I choose this model.
[...]
What I liked about this unit is you have a video out. You can hook up your headrest monitors and if you have a game system (Xbox, PS, Wii...what have you) you can hook it up to the video in that it has to offer as well (with full playback to your headrests). This just allows you to have direct connection to your cars speakers.
Dvd Playback. It is very good. Turn the car off, it'll start right back up where it left off.
Bluetooth. My boyfriend has a Pioneer DEH-P9800BT which I installed as well (A great unit if you don't require Dvd play back). Unlike the pioneer unit there is no mic to install anywhere and the quality still sounds pretty good on both ends. Doesn't matter what source you are using Bluetooth will alert you when someone is calling by pausing your music/video and showing the caller Id. You can accept or decline.
AM/FM. I was a bit disappointed that the unit didn't have RDS. I have been using a factory unit that had it and kind of miss that feature. Seemed like a feature they could have added.
Ipod. Heres where I am on the fence. I had been using a fm transmitter for my ipod and finally wanted direct connect because I could not take the quality anymore. I purchased an Apple Composite AV Cable (THIS WORKS JUST AS GOOD AS A JVC KSU20 CABLE) Of course, The quality was 300% better than before. However, The Interface is a bit slow. I really hope that JVC comes out with a firmware upgrade that speeds it up a bit. When I go to play "The Killers" it takes me approx. 1 minute to get to the letter "K". But for the most part I keep it on shuffle. The unit charges the Ipod as well.
Ipod Video. This is a cool feature. With either the JVC KSU20 or the Ipod Composite AV cable. You can watch any video off your ipod and direct the signal to the headrest monitors as well.
Pros: Great Bluetooth, DVD, Ipod Video integration with a sleek (no button look). Love the 4 setting tilt screen (great for stereo units closer to the ground)And Love the Proximity motion light as well.
Cons: For a single din unit JVC did a decent job, Ipod interface is really my only complaint. I had looked at the JVC KD NX5000. But didn't like the look of the unit or felt the need for crappy navagation. The menu interface feels like it should be more user friendly (getting to the ipod artists list has to be done by hitting about 5 buttons)
I have not used satellite or the back-up camera (which I plan to install soon).
[...]
Good luck and have fun with this great little unit.*UPDATE*
A few new things.
Satellite Radio - Bought the Sirius Adapter through ebay. Though it's not as fast as a stand-alone unit, It sounds great and it's nice to have it integrated into the radio.
Iphone Compatibility - I was a little disappointed to see that, unfortunately, the Iphone does not seem to be compatible with the unit. Maybe with either an update from Apple or JVC this will change in the future. For now, I use my usable Ipod touch just as a music jukebox in the car and Iphone for everything else (gym, work, etc...). It's actually not a bad setup.
HD Radio - Buying the HD Adapter fixed my RDS problem. Any stations that send out artist info is now displayed. Without excellent reception, those extra HD stations are hit or miss. It's a nice feature to have. Quality can be exceptional at times.
I will keep those interested up-to-date if I come across any new info on the unit.
Have Fun,
Mary

I bought this stereo on presidents' day and was surprised at it's size it's HUGE ! and the sound earth shattering ! One reviewer states that there is no way to connect your non - ipod mp3 player to this system, that is not quite true, all you have to do is get a 3.5 mm x 2 RCA male cable ( y - connector ) and hook it up to the 'Phono' input jack in the rear, use the function button to select phono and wallah ! you are in business. ( make sure the cable says digital ) The only drawback to this hook - up is you can't control the mp3 functions through the stereo but it sounds great ! It is also important to use a good quality cable, if you use a cheap cable it will probably hum or hiss during playback. Hopefully this review will assist others who are thinking about this sony. The other surprise I got was the wide margin in price I shopped around got prices ranging from $353 - $680 simply amazing isn't it ? I paid a little more than I would've liked but I got mine from a store close to my home, so I guess I paid for the convenience.

JBL Balboa SUB 10 - 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer Review

JBL Balboa SUB 10 - 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this subwoofer to replace an old subwoofer from a HTIB (Home Theater In a Box) system. I chose this particular subwoofer first because of the brand and second because of the price. I have used JBL products for years (Home, Car, and Professional) and have always been very pleased with their performance. This one is no different.
When it arrived, I was quite surprised at it's size. It is much bigger than I expected for a single 10" subwoofer but still comfortably fits in next to my entertainment center.
As for the sound, I would consider this subwoofer very good but not great. It has much better low end extension than your typical HTIB subwoofer but it's not going to shake the ground. I have never been fond of 10" low frequency drivers and this one isn't going to change my view of them. For some reason, I always find 10" drivers to be more "muddy" sounding than a 12" or even an 8" driver. However, when the next step up (12") costs three times what this one does, I can certainly make an exception. That said, this subwoofer does sound good and has no trouble filling my entire living room with good solid bass.
The features on this subwoofer are also very good. It has speaker level and line level stereo inputs as well as a separate line level LFE input for feeding from a Home Theater receiver. One thing to note, the manual says that the LFE input will bypass the crossover setting. This is actually preferable since the crossover function should be handled by your receiver so that the sub picks up where the main speakers drop off and there is no or very little frequency overlap.
One thing to be cautious of is the power that this thing has. 100w RMS/225w Peak may not sound like much but it is more than enough to fill your average living room/den or to upset your neighbors if you live in an apartment.
All in all, this is an excellent choice for the price and I am very pleased with it.

This dish works to receive single satellite non-HD DirecTV. I put it up myself using simple tools. It took about one and a half hours including finding and tweaking signal on the satellite. (The Sony receiver I have has a
function for aiming the dish, and I presume all sat receivers have this. It is simple.) Works great.

Denon AVR2310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity Review

Denon AVR2310CI 7.1-Channel Multi-Zone Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I looked at all the brands and settled on Denon because they offer a very complete set of features for the money. This model is basically identical to the Denon AVR-890 model sold in big box stores except it has some extra features that are useful for custom installations (if you have your HT installer do it for you) and has two remotes instead of one on the 890
What I liked about this model over many of the competitors:
- Audyssey MultEQ is an advanced auto setup system which adjusts all the settings for your speakers. You plug in the included microphone, it outputs test tones and calculates the optimum settings for you. It takes measurements over 6 positions to ensure that the calibration settings work well over the whole listening area. Audyssey (in my opinion) is a more sophisticated system than what you would find in the competitors like Pioneer and Yamaha. Denon implements the complete set of Audyssey MultEQ features, shows you the resulting settings, and permits you to tweak the settings afterwards even.
- Audyssey Dynamic EQ - This is a GREAT feature. It's not unlike the Dolby Volume feature offered on other brands. What it does is it makes the sound more natural when you have the volume control lower than the reference standard (the volume the studio used for their reference). When you listen at low volumes, the human ear becomes less sensitive to certain tonal ranges, so this circuit helps restore the tonal balance of the sound. It also balances the level of the channels based on your volume level to make sure you can hear the rear channels better at lower volumes. I think this feature works GREAT and it's something anybody can notice. I think this is a must-have feature. Again Denon is to be commended for offering this feature on all their receivers in 2009
- Dynamic Volume is a useful feature to keep the sound level from blasting you when commercials come on. It's nice for watching TV.
- Denon has better control over video and audio settings. You can adjust the crossover frequency individually for each set of speakers. So if you have large speakers in the front and small satellites in the back, you can customize the bass management individually for each pair of speakers, taking advantage of each speakers' full bandwidth. For some reason many other receivers, Pioneer, Marantz, Yamaha often don't have this per-speaker adjustment. If you use Audyssey to set up your system, the Denon will use this capability to optimize your speakers' bass capabilities.
Also, Denon remembers the VIDEO settings for each input so you can have custom brightness, contrast, color for each input.
- Denon 890/2310 uses the Anchor Bay ABT2010 video processor which is a top grade processor. It does a superb job of scaling and deinterlacing video (Anchor Bay's video processor is well reviewed) probably as good or better than most TVs. It works for both analog sources AND HDMI, converting all your video to the maximum resolution of your TV up to 1080P or any other resolution that is optimal for your set. You do have the option to turn it off and passthrough the signals if you don't see a benefit. For most people, unless you have a top of the line TV, this processor can benefit all your sources
- Many receivers take a long time to resync the HDMI signal when you change inputs. On my previous Onkyo, the screen would blank out for 7-12 seconds when I switched from Cable to DVD. The Denon does it as quick as any I've seen, only 2-3 seconds
- Denon has Graphical User Interface over analog and HDMI connections. So you can adjust the settings while a video signal is being played and you will see the menus overlaid on top (especially useful when you are adjusting video settings). Many other receivers only do GUI overlay for analog connections, but not HDMI. With the Denon 890, you can see Volume Level indicator overlaid over the picture while you are playing back HDMI sources.
- It runs very cool. Many receivers run very hot but this one is good if your ventilation is more limited in your AV cabinet.
- It offers Dolby PLIIz, which allows you to run 7.1 speakers and give you height channels (five speakers in the front). I don't use this feature but it's an improvement over a normal 7.1 setup.
The BAD:
- This model does not have Preamp outputs so you can't add an external amp later if you need more power.
- The manual is hard to understand. Fortunately, there are some great FAQ web pages put up by one guy (search for Denon FAQ)which takes all the mystery out of the settings and adjustments
So, the Denon 890 is a superb product that is leading the pack in this price range. They didn't cripple the product in any way except the lack of preamp outputs.
As far as sound quality, it's debatable whether brand X is better than brand Y, but I can say Denon doesn't make poor performing products in general. Their amps are solid performers that are average to above average in meeting their rated power specifications. Even thought this unit isn't the heaviest chassis, it still packs a punch for its price range.

Polk Audio SurroundBar360° DVD Home Theater System (Black) Review

Polk Audio SurroundBar360° DVD Home Theater System (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Observations
Pros: Built like a tank
Simple setup
Cool factor of 10
Cons:
Should have blue ray at this price point.
Frankly I think it needs a subwoofer, Tried it for a few days with a Polk subwoofer and without. Yes it sounds decent without a sub, but only decent, not great. I have yet to hear anything even close to 5.1 or any type of surround. Upon contacting Polk, I was advised that this bar was NOT (unlike the soundbar series) designed to be used above the tv only below with the optimal placement directly in the front of the tv. Frankly the soundbar sitting in front of a 56 inch tv looks horrible, under it it looks built in. Polk indicating that could affect the sound field. Well thats just cute, the whole POINT of this system was it was supposed to give you the 5.1 effect regardless of placement or your position in the room!
It is a nice system, could use a tad more volume, not amazing with the surround, even though the wide open setup I heard at best buy was nothing short of amazing, but in my 12 X 12 living room, far less than spectacular.
Finally save your money, at this price point the 360 is not ready for prime time. If you are looking for solid tight sound in a high end soundbar this is it. If you are expecting the results Polk claims you will be badly disappointed. My old 5.1 theater in a box $300.00 system sounded a tad better frankly.UPDATE:
After owning this a few months I must say it is a complete waste of money.
There simply is no separation in the soundfield regardless of the input signal.
I have tweaked this system to no end with lackluster results.
For a grand there is a endless amount of equipment that you could purchase that would put this system to shame.
Polk missed on this one, if your heart is set on one, wait a while as the price is certain to go down due to the LARGE amount of people disappointed in this system.
This is nothing more than a fancy expensive 2.1 system. Save your money.

PreSonus Eureka Pro Recording Channel Review

PreSonus Eureka Pro Recording Channel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Eureka has gotten a lot of buzz. The box feels solid and substantial. It comes with gain, hard/soft compression, three band parametric eq, and master volume. The patch order of the eq and compresion can be switched, depending on your needs. Other useful features include phase inversion, variable impedence, and a saturation knob. A backlit analog meter can display incoming signal level or gain reduction. Inputs and outputs are both TRS and XLR. An effects insert point is included. An optional digital output card is available.
I bought the Eureka on the recommendation of a trusted music salesperson (yes, they exist) to power my Royer 121 ribbon mic. There were no preamps anywhere close to this price that he would consider recommending. As it turns out, he did me a great favor. The Eureka does a very solid job with the Royer mic (although I haven't heard the Royer on anything else, so I can only speak to the pairing of the two). Better yet, it gives me new options for almost every other piece of gear I own. I have an inexpensive Precision bass that really benefits from this box - the compression and preampe give it the fullness of a better instrument, while the eq helps to control the noisiness and unevenness between strings. The variable impedence allows users to try those DIY tricks on Shure SM57 mics without pulling out a soldering iron. Other budget-to-midrange mics also benefit. I run my Mojave tube mic through the Eureka to control peaks with good results. I haven't found anything that doesn't benefit at least a bit from the Eureka. I have even heard of mixes being run through the Eureka (one side at a time) to remove the dreaded "digital chill". Between the quiet operation and the versatility of the Eureka, it is no wonder that it is quickly becoming a "best kept secret" among many home recordists and even sine professionals.
Downsides: The knobs are close together and seem vulnerable to being bent. Three sweep eq's with no shelving eq are less than I'd prefer, but they do their job. The optional digital card can take signals from two Eurekas run in tandem, but the signal from the second Eureka must pass to the card in the "analog domain" before it is converted to a digital signal. As with any analog gear, favorite settings must be written down instead of being saved to memory for instant recall. None of these issues is a deal-killer - they just illustrate how hard I had to work to come up with any complaints at all.
If you're looking for a way to bring your home recording quality up a notch, or a way to give old gear a new lease on life, the Eureka may be just the ticket. Its quality sound, versatility and bang-for-the-buck put it in a niche that will make many bugdet-minded recordists very happy.

Roth Audio ALFiE Integrated 2.1 Speaker System with DVD, CD, and iPod Dock (Black/Silver) Review

Roth Audio ALFiE Integrated 2.1 Speaker System with DVD, CD, and iPod Dock (Black/Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Not being an extreme audiophile, I was slightly apprehensive about how this system would perform and if it would match up to our old multi-component system. So far so good! Plus the ability to use it as our primary DVD player is a nice added bonus.
We are using as the main stereo in our living room (medium size room in an apartment) and it is sufficient. The iPod dock works great with our "old" iPod mini. The CD/DVD function works well as does the Video Out (using old RCA composite port not component; we have an old TV), Aux in, and FM tuner. The AM tuner has not been that good- there is an audible hissing sound even with the "Talk" feature on the remote enabled (though that feature does improve it a bit). So other than the AM tuner, we have been pleased, and didn't have to spend an arm an leg as with the Bose stuff...
Finally, I have to admit the system is quite cute and cuddly while being slick. Alfie is our friend.
Cheers.

Definitive Technology Mythos STS 120v Supertower Speaker (Single, Black) Review

Definitive Technology Mythos STS 120v Supertower Speaker (Single, Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
5 stars based on a fuller range sound coming from a slender design speaker used in a small room when large box towers are not an option. I still prefer large box towers when space is not an issue but those with space limitations should check these out.
1. Packaging was very good, double boxed, secure and no issues with shipping.
2. The STS was an upgrade from my old fronts, Mythos ones. I read great reviews online about the STS and ST and was impressed when I heard them in person. The upgrade made a big difference, the STS really do sound like big speakers with a wide dynamic range which was missing with the Mythos Ones (even with a supercube 1), the Ones sounded thin and small. If space is an issue or the wife won't let you get those big box towers then check out the STS and ST, I was pleasantly surprised.
3. I'm running STS as fronts, Mythos 10 as a center, supercube 1, gems as surrounds in a small room (corner placement of plasma TV). No option but to use low profile slim tower fronts. Audyssey Multieq was run and then I fine tuned with a SPL meter. Audyssey set the STS at 40 hz crossover, Mythos 10 to 80 hz crossover, and the gems at 120 hz. I set the STS to small (crossover 40 Hz) so the very low frequencies go to the sub. Upgrade was well worth the price.
4. STS fronts are great for watching TV in stereo, bass is tight and fast, not boomy. It no longer sounds like TV speakers or lifestyle speakers.

The Cue Radio Model r1 iPod iPhone Dock with Model s1 Satellite Speaker (white) Review

If you're looking for great sound in a compact system, look no further. The only thing small about this system is it's size. We have one of the model r1's with s1 satellite speaker in our main conference room at my company. The unit fills the large cavernous space of the conference room with deep, rich sound with relative ease. It doesn't matter what your taste in music is, this system delivers. It's audio performance is only rivaled by its attractive design. The professional looking aesthetics looks right at home, whether it's sitting on the credenza in your office or on your nightstand at home.

Boston Acoustics Voyager VOYA5B 5.25-Inch 2-Way Outdoor Speakers (Black) Review

Boston Acoustics Voyager VOYA5B 5.25-Inch 2-Way Outdoor Speakers (Black)

I am very happy with these speakers. I was going to buy a pair of Polks but when I listened to them in a store they did not compare to these Boston Acoustics. They are loud and have a very clear sound. They are substantial and can fill sound in a moderate sized area (my backyard). They were under $200 which is a great bargain. You will not be disappointed.

Onkyo TX-NR3007 140 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black) Review

Onkyo TX-NR3007 140 Watts 9.2-Channel AV Surround Home Network Receiver (Black)
Average Reviews:

I researched my AVR choice for months, read plenty of reviews, both pro and consumer, and settled on this one. There are several home theater forums as well that were very helpful- although realize that on any internet forum you tend to concentrate those who are having problems with the unit. People who don't have problems don't tend to say as much- and that goes for any product.
For me, this thing works like a champ. I chose this over the 1007 for 1)better video processing (Reon chip), 2) independant power supplies (video/aduio/etc), and at the time, I found it for a great price, only a bit more than the 1007. It also has Dolby Dynamic volume, which the 1007 doesn't have- but I use the audyssey dynamic volume anyways. The backlit remote is nice too- although not a reason to buy this over the 1007. At first, I wasn't sure if the Reon chip was worth it, my projector suppossedly has the same chip, but I can tell a big difference upconverting my Dish 720p. The image looks much better when I let the Onkyo do the upconversion as oppossed to my projector. Likewise, it does a better job with DVD material compared to my BR which also upconverts DVDs, just not as well as the Onkyo.
There are plenty of comprehensive reviews about all the many, many features this unit has. I'll let you research those. Compared to other brands, this seemed to have the most bang for the buck. No other 9.2 recievers in this price range. Few THX Ultra certified recievers in this price range. More HDMI inputs than anyone else. I currently have a 5.1 setup with high quality quadrapolar surrounds, and to be honest, I don't think I'll be getting rear surrounds any time soon. I will probably add height next. From everything I've read height makes more of an impact than rear surrounds.
Plenty loud, plenty of headroom. Customizations out the wazoo. Audyssey microphone automatically sets up the unit for you. Mine runs warm, but after a full length movie with the sound cranked up it's not hot by any stretch.
I don't use the net features, can't comment.
So far I use it with my dish 622 box (HDMI), panasonic BR (HDMI), sanyo DVD (component), macbook (HDMI), airport express (optical) and hooked up to a samsung plasma (HDMI) and epson projector (HDMI) without any problems.

Yamaha YSP-1100BL Digital Sound Projector Review

Yamaha YSP-1100BL Digital Sound Projector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a 10 month old daughter. she loves to climb on anything to pull herself up into a standing position. She has forced me to rethink my surround sound set up for her safety. I was using a high end sony amp to power my klispch rc-7 speakers on stands. I ordred the YSP-1100 with serious doubts that I would be truely satified after using a 6.1 system for some time. I was wrong. It works realy well. They have made it easy to install and set up. It even keep some features of a traditonal surround system. One can turn the left, center, right, rear right and rear left volume up independently. the sound quality is very claer. The highs are not as bright as the Klipsch but they are better than most. There are recomendations for room size and shape. the room size recommendations are (width 3 to 7 meter, h 2 to 3.5 meter and depth 3 to 7 meter). You will also need four walls in the sitting listing area to reflect the sound. Sound reflection is how it is able to achive the surround sound. I know it sounds like a gimmic but it does work. Here is my list of pro's and con's
pro's
1. Easy to set up.
2. Great sound.
3. No running wires between amp and speakers.
4. Wall mountable (with optional mounting bracket).
5. Sub woofer out put (one rca jack).
6. Video inputs (3 conponent and four composite).
7. Two audio inputs.
8. Digital audio inputs (2 toslink and 1 coax).
9. It has a mic to place in the sitting area to allow it to do auto setup.
10. You will not have chair setting really close to rear surround speaker.
Con's
1. No HDMI inputs or outputs.
2. You have to have four walls to get great sound.
3. The room size does matter.
4. If wall mounted be prepared to hide some cables (I ran mine inside the wall, looks great).
5. Needs a sub woofer for the full bottom end sound.
6. It is recommended that is to installed where no furniture will block the sound for reflecting off the walls.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great sounding surround system (if they meet the room spec and have four walls).

Yamaha's YSP-1100 Digital Sound Projector provides true multi-channel surround sound from a single component. As amazing as it seems, the YSP-1100 can actually deliver multi-channel sound that surrounds listeners the same way that sound from front, center and rear speakers does. DVD movies and other digital sources sound just the way they are supposed to. Dolby Pro Logic II is included, so even 2-channel TV sound can be heard in glorious multi-channel surround. Remember, this is true surround sound, not virtual surround, which can cause listening fatigue. This model features 40 built-in beam drivers and 2 built-in woofers, along with 42 corresponding digital amplifiers.
The YSP-1100 precisely controls the orientation of sound by focusing it into beams. The center channel sound is heard directly, while the sounds from other channels are heard after reflecting off the walls surrounding the listener. SRS's TruBass technology uses harmonics to provide deep and rich bass response. The result is an excellent solution for video enthusiasts who wish to build their home theater systems around larger flat screen TVs and desire a neat, uncluttered, unobtrusive system to match the interior of their room.
Five selectable sound settings allow users to choose between 5-Beam Mode, Stereo Mode, 3-Beam Mode, Stereo+3-Beam Mode and My Beam Mode. The YSP-1100 has a wider soundstage than its predecessors, affording more optimum listening positions within a room. My Beam mode allows users to focus sound to a specific position in their room at the touch of a button to avoid disturbing others.
Yamaha's CINEMA DSP technology, which offers seven audio programs compatible with the Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS Neo:6 sound formats, creates realistic soundscapes in any room. For late night movie and music enjoyment, the YSP-1100 features a Night Listening Enhancer mode that allows dialog and quiet passages to be heard clearly, even at low volumes. The TV Equal Volume mode prevents sudden bursts of sound from TV programs and commercials.
The YSP-1100 offers simple video input selection with a multi-language onscreen display. Video can be selected from any of two component inputs to a component output, or from three composite inputs to a composite output with superimposed onscreen display menus in any of four languages (English, French, German and Spanish).

Klipsch Synergy SUB-10 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black) Review

Klipsch Synergy SUB-10 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I hooked this SW up too my Yamaha tuner and Klipsch Quintet II speakers. The first thing I watched was Apocalypse Now due to the phenominal 5.1 sound. The subwoofer is tremendous. You can have it as loud or as subtle as you want and it doesnt distort. Hook up was a breeze via a single "SW cable" (not supplied). I'm not a tech head but I had no problems putting it all together.
The sub has its own power supply which is an absolute must have from a power set up standpoint.
Just a side note.... all these components are only as good as the bit in the middle (the tuner) and the amount of power that it can push to the individual parts. Once you have it all set right this sub will last you a long long long time before you outgrow it.
I WOULD buy this product again if I had too.
