This is a great system of speakers. Well-built, good looking, durable, good connections, but MOST importantly - great sound. The subwoofer is a MONSTER of good bass! I am extremely pleased with this surround sound system, better than any I have ever had. The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars, rather than 5 is that the overall depth of sound is not quite as sharp as I expected. The rear channels are too average for a 5 star rating. The center and front speakers are really good. This is an outstanding, overall diverse and powerful set of speakers for anything from watching James Bond to a Pavarotti concert. Highly recommended.

DQL-8 - AudioControl 8 Channel Line Output Converter with Auxiliary Input/Digital Signal Processing Review

This processor fixed my poor performing Bose stock sound system. It took a few months of tweaking and some analysis with a RTA, but it is an unbelievable difference in SQ. When I first installed it, I was disappointed with the sound, then as I started making adjustments, I was overwhelmed with the number of settings. But in the end, it is well worth it. The result is a clean, dynamic sound, while keeping your OEM head unit.
It converts the amplified signal from the stock amp, then it allows you to flatten and shape the sound. In my opinion, this is a better option compared to the JL Audio Clean Sweep and Audio Control DQXS combination. I am also glad I opted for the equalization feature of this unit, vs. the LC8i which has no equalization. After analyzing the pre-EQ signal coming out of the Bose stock amp, the frequency pattern is a mess. The EQ allows you to fix the output from your stock amp, then to further adjust it to your taste.
The DDC is a must (wired remote), I have my DDC mounted in my sunglass case, which allows me to make changes to the EQ or choose from 1 of the 4 preset memory settings. The processor also allows you to sum the audio signals (if your fronts are bi-amped) and also has a crossover.
I have the following setup:
Infiniti/Bose 8 channel stock amp
AudioControl DQL-8 with DDC
Kenwood XR-5S
Polk Audio MM6501 (6 1/2" fronts)
Boston Acoustics SR65 (6 1/2" rears)
Polk Audio MM1040(10" sub)

I am very happy with these speakers. I was going to buy a pair of Polks but when I listened to them in a store they did not compare to these Boston Acoustics. They are loud and have a very clear sound. They are substantial and can fill sound in a moderate sized area (my backyard). They were under $200 which is a great bargain. You will not be disappointed.

Boston Acoustics Classic Series CPS12Wi Wireless Ready Powered Woofer (Black) Review

I've been beating on this thing for a few days so now it's time for a quick review. I replaced a Boston CS Sub10 with this one and could not be happier. It has great power at 400 watts rms (850 peak). The bass is deep , rich and smooth with no audible port noise which is a plus. This must be due to the heavy magnet structure, tight spider and stiff woofer cone. The woofer also has a high roll surround for long excursion. It has the kind of bass you can feel as well as hear. I have it paired with the rest of the Boston CS line which includes 2 CS 226's, 1 CS 225C and 4 CS 26's for a 7.1 system. It is all being pushed by an Onkyo 806 at 135W x 7 and it has no trouble keeping up at all. The CS Sub10 kept bottoming out cause it couldn't keep up hence the replacement. Those of you who have heard a sub bottom out know what I'm talking about cause it will drive you nuts. I look at other subs but decided to stick with Boston CS line because timbre matching is an important aspect of a great system. It will create a more balanced sound because the tonal chacteristics of the speakers are the same. Overall, I'm very happy with this sub and I only wish I had done it sooner.

Boston Acoustics SoundWareXS5.1W 5.1 Speaker System (White) Review

I bought these about two months ago & for the size, they make a big sound! Now, let's be real here. They don't sound as detailed or loud as floor standing speakers, or larger bookshelf speakers. Whithout the sub, they sound pretty small. That's because they are. But if you want some great looking & sounding surround sound system in a box, this is a great choice. I have this in a small living room set up. I had my Sony STR-DH710 7.1-channel A/V Receiver with 6 HD Inputs [3D Compatible]calibrate the speakers & viola! Excellent home theater sound. I plugged my iPod into it & listen to a wide variety of music, from MF Doom to Leonard Cohen & points in between. To my ears sound better than Bose (I think they're overrated, anyway).
They're small enough to not be an eyesore to most girlfriends/ wives. A BIG plus!

I just had a Boston Acoutics amp go bad on me that I purchased 4 months ago and I just found out that Boston Acoutics does not warrantee their mobile products sold via Amazon.com. If you have any questions call Boston Acoustic ahead of time and avoid the problem. The only online dealer they have is crutchfields. Oh, they estimated my repair cost to be about $75 and will take less than 10 days... weigh your risk, but know it.
