I got this bundle to replace my old 10" punch and burned out 600W old Kenwood amp in YJ. Even through these 2x10" with this amp do a nice job of giving a little of bass, but nothing phenomenal. Good price, nice balanced sound.
Oh Amazon/this vendor (6th ave)have ZERO communication. no confirmation e-mail from amazon for placing the order, no tracking number. but after a little bit of calling (amazon, 6th ave) 6th ave was able to give me the tracking number.
so good, quick shipping(considering it was free-awesome!), good little bass bundle.

Wow, I was a bit skeptical that this sub could be as good as everyone says. I personally love most of Alpine's products so I decided I had to get one of these. I am amazed! This is the best sub I have ever heard. I have it paired with a Kenwood KAC-7205 that pumps out 1000W max (500W RMS) and it's in a 1 Cu.Ft. sealed enclosure. This I only have the bass level turned up to +3 and this subs hits louder, harder, and cleaner than my buddy who has two 12" Kicker CompVX subs with a 1500W amp. If you are looking for a great sub, this is it! You will not be disappointed! I can't even imagine how much harder this would hit with a ported box!

I wouldn't buy anything else than infinity unless you want to spend a lot more money. I would definitly buy again! If you aren't sure if you should get them, just buy them!

Velodyne SC8 8-inch Passive Subwoofer - SubContractor Series Review

Velodyne SC8 8-inch Passive Subwoofer - SubContractor Series
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you're thinking of getting just the sub ... think again. The laws of physics haven't been repealed; the way they get bass out of this small sub is to use equalization in the powerful companion SC-1250 amplifier. That is, you tell the amp you've hooked up this sub, and it boosts the low bass appropriately to get the right output. So as they say, you need the Velodyne amp to use this sub, unless you plan to create and test your own equalization, and use a massively powerful amp to drive it.
For what it is, though, it's a good product, though pricey when you include all the components. It's a very compact sub for custom or high end installs. You would probably want at least two of these for all but a small room. So you end up paying a big premium when it's all added up.

i dont own this sub, probably never will. i'm sure it sounds great and i'm also sure it hits deep. like the poster above me said (pimp van) is correct you probably need a van for any more than one of these. if you have your own shop, or your a special person with MTX and they give you one of these, or you just have money to blow than go for it. by as many as you want and blow your brains out with bass. but i promise that, for the cost of one of these subs you can have two very good subs installed with an amp that will out beet one of these every day of the week. i gave it 5 stars because i'm sure it's an awesome sub-woofer, MTX is a great company and has been a great company for a long time. this is just one of those (look what we have) products.

Energy S-10.3 800-Watt 10-Inch Subwoofer (Black) Review

Energy S-10.3 800-Watt 10-Inch Subwoofer (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the take 5 speakers, and was debating between the 8" or 10" sub, I decided to go with the 10". I have had a lot of audio equipment over the years, and I really enjoy a nice clean "thumping" bass, and this unit delivers, with plenty to spare.
My only complaint is, this unit has a real nice blue light that comes on when activated, and they are notorious for blowing out, usually in less than a week. This doesn't affect the performance in any way, just no light. Now if you have five minutes to spare, and can use a screwdriver, you can replace this bulb for roughly $1. The catch is, you kill your warranty if you do. Energy customer service wants you to ship the unit back to them, to the tune of between $20-$30, (it is a heavy piece). depending on where you live, where they will replace the bulb, under warranty, and ship the unit back to you, with roughly a 2-3 week wait.
Makes absolutely no sense, and the reason for four stars, but if you don't mind living without the light, (it will blow) it is one nice sub, that can handle just about anything you can throw at it, even at high levels, without breaking up.

This Subwoofer, Amp and Accessory kit is a great value and makes adding some bass to your stock system pretty easy. Of course, you can pay thousands for a subwoofer upgrade, but for the average person there's no reason to. I am far from being a car audio expert, but this system sounds great in my 06 Civic LX Coupe. It may not give the broadest hertz range of any subwoofer, and it may not have the power to blow out your neighbor's windows, but it does add plenty of rich bass to all types of music. For ease of installation, product durability and cost effectiveness, you cannot beat this package.

Energy RC-Micro 5.1 Surround Speaker System (Black) Review

Energy RC-Micro 5.1 Surround Speaker System (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Energy RC-Micro 5.1 surround sound speakers pack awesome sound in small and rather stylish design. I am not an audiophile, but I used to have large Infinity speakers that sat on the floor, and these Energy speakers have sound quality far superior to them.
The powered bass rocks the house and can deliver plenty enough bass to fill my 13 x 20 foot room and more. The surround speakers have a uniquely crisp sound so that your home feels as though it was part of the original video and music making experience.
Although these speakers can belt out over 100 watts per channel without a problem, I wouldn't recommend these speakers for the person who wants to listen to their music at deafening levels. The bass can deliver but the unique qualities of the surround speakers are somewhat lost at maximum power . . . or my ears can't adequately process all of the noise.
I find these speakers excellent for surround sound TV and movie watching, excellent for music at normal listening levels (where the neighbors in the next house are not complaining), and good for the times when you want to make neighbors listen to your music.

Infinity Powered 12IN Subwoofer 400 Watt Review

Infinity Powered 12IN Subwoofer 400 Watt
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this subwoofer in 2007, and it died a year later, nearly to the day. I blame myself, really - when I was thinking about buying it, I read reviews, just about all of which said that it had excellent sound. That was true. What I didn't read at the time was all the complaints. Turns out that the PS12 and PS10 amplifier modules are notorious for failing around a year after first turn-on. In my case, I pulled the screws and yanked the amplifier module. Soot is everywhere. I honestly can't see exactly what failed, though it looks like an area under one of the inductors was involved in a flashover of some sort. In fact, about a one-square-inch chunk of circuit board is actually eaten away from this failure. Now, I'm handy with a soldering iron, but this is clearly unfixable, since a large area of the surface traces are destroyed. At least they had the sense to install an internal fuse - without that, this failure might have burned down my house. $300 for one year of use and the potential for a life-changing fire; you do the math. Anyway, I just bought a Cadence CSX-12 to replace this dog. Do your research, not just for audiophile reviews, but also for complaints!

Klipsch HD Theater 1000 - 5.1-channel home theater speaker system - 700 Watt (total) - black Review

Klipsch HD Theater 1000 - 5.1-channel home theater speaker system - 700 Watt (total) - black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My HD 1000 set is coupled with a Denon 890 AVR. I purchased the speakers and receiver to replace a Bose 2.1 Acoustimass III 2.1 setup and a Sony STR DE 845 with a failed protection circuit.
The speakers are in a 10x20 space, with seating on one long side and tv on the other (i.e., viewing space is shallow and wide) with a wall on one side and an open L-shaped room on the other, with the subwoofer against the one side wall.
The Audessey MultiEQ calibration on the Denon significantly changed and clarified the sound. The calibration resulted in asymmetrical levels but perfect balance at the listening position. The sound is very crisp with great imaging in both stereo and surround modes. The subwoofer, calibrated with its gain at midpoint, ended up at -9.5db. What seemed to be a low value when listening to test tones turns out to be exactly right: powerful, clean bass (as judged by The Roots and SNL via Dolby Digital), but no artificial boominess or rumbling from voices. It is amazing how many commercials use very low frequencies to get attention, something the little Bose subwoofer missed entirely. Stereo music programming via FL+FR+SW (2.1) mode is richer and warmer than I expected.
About the only disappointment--and this is not the fault of the HD1000s or the receiver--is that I am now aware of just how much variation there is in source material.
I would have love to have heard it side by side with the 300 and 500 models, but there was no such opportunity locally. For the size space I had to fill, I would have purchased the HD 500 but the HD 1000 became available for a slightly lower price. The 1000's slightly larger subwoofer is probably not going to fit cleanly on the bookshelf, but I think my wife and the cats are getting used to it.
These speakers are wonderful, but I strongly recommend a receiver capable of frequency calibration. The sound quality is noticeably inferior when set flat. (Again, no fault of the speakers). When coupled with the right receiver--especially one with active calibration--the HD 1000 gets my recommendation.

Klipsch Synergy KSW12 12-inch 105-watt Powered Subwoofer Review

Klipsch Synergy KSW12 12-inch 105-watt Powered Subwoofer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Having heard this sub while back, I have to agree with the first reviewer. It's acceptable for HT use, but poor for music; regardless of their nonsense about dynamic power.
Although, movies may get away with "large, short-term peaks of power", many music will demand nearly constant, power. In virtually all movies, special effects and sound tracks last only a few seconds; all most all of it is a dialog between the actors. Certainly, there is no bass in dialogs. Music is different. I mean, how often do you hear a couple note of bass, followed by few more notes several minutes later?
I'm not sure where some of the reviewers get their information, but there is no such thing as a "crisp & sharp" bass. Crisp & sharp implies, fast rise time, which means there are significant higher harmonic(high frequency) contents in the sound. Anyone who understand the concept of harmonics and Fourier series should understand this. The "crisp & sharp" part of the "bass" comes from the satellites. The most common reason why some bass sounds muddy/boomy is because of poor integration between the satellites and the sub or due to the standing waves caused by the sub-room interaction.
I also don't get how anyone can get "imaging" from a mono sub. Even if you use two subs, low frequency sounds are difficult to localize. This is the very reason why you can place the subs significant distance from the satellites.
The rattling of the object in the room has EVERYTHING to do with the bass, regardless of the distortion. Obviously, the reviewer has never experienced the room pressurized by two 15" subs driven by 1000+ watt pro-audio amplifier. You can barely hear it, but you will definitely feel it. If you have never heard/felt a real sub, then you really don't have a good reference point to judge the other subs. All you can do is note the significant improvement KSW-12 made over the original 8-inch "sub".
That being said, the KSW-12's low end of the frequency response is bit lacking for an "almost-high end sub". It seemed to struggle with the loud rap, as well as the classical music. For movies, it wasn't as bad. It handled most action scenes well, but combat scenes with exaggerated explosions, the sub clearly ran out of gas.
Objectively, the specs are some what misleading. Why would anyone spec the subs at 1/8-space? I've seen half and 1/4-space specs, but 1/8-space? Also, how dynamic is the "dynamic power"? This sounds too much like my plastic 2" 100 watt(PMPO) multimedia speakers I had back in college.
In short, KSW-12 has respectable volume, but is unsuitable for continuous music with significant bass content. It also doesn't have the low end impact. It's spec are completely unrealistic and you won't get anything near the listed spec in a typical living/family room playing music, or movies with heavy action sequences. In the end, it's only a bit better than a typical consumer level 12" sub.

REVIEW: Complete a powerful home theater system with the deep, driving bass of the Klipsch KSW-12 powered subwoofer--perfect for combing with high-performance Klipsch Synergy Series surround sound configurations. It couples a 12-inch driver to the floor for optimal performance. This subwoofer's high-output, down-firing design "grips" the air and fills a room with low frequency energy that's heard and felt with undetectable distortion. The built-in discrete MOSFET amplifier and 12-inch fiber-composite woofer are as efficient as they are reliable. It provides 105 watts of FTC-rated continuous power, and it has a dynamic power rating of 440 watts. (Dynamic power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the woofer under normal operating conditions.)
The woofer is composed of a Santoprene rubber surround with a fiber composite cone which enables Klipsch subwoofers to deliver on their promise of extended bass response and maximum reliability. This subwoofer accepts LFE, line-level, and speaker level inputs, making it easy to add to the Quintet Microsystem, the Synergy System 6, or any other Klipsch inspired arrangement. The KSW-12's jet ash veneer vinyl finish creates a deceivingly subtle exterior for its earthshaking sound capabilities.

Energy ESW-8HG 8" 200 watt Take Classic subwoofer Review

Energy ESW-8HG 8 200 watt Take Classic subwoofer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Allow me to start off by saying I am by no means an audiophile, and don't feel it necessary to spend more on a sound system than the components I am connecting to it. This subwoofer nicely complements a small bookshelf audio system, and if you intend to use it as a secondary audio system, or in an apartment or other setting where you can't have it up too loud, it sounds very nice at lower volumes.
However, that's about all this subwoofer is good for. It is obvious that the driver and amplifier are of good quality - they can handle low frequencies at room shaking volumes with ease. Unfortunately, the box is poorly constructed, resulting in "port noise" that completely overpowers the volume of the bass it's producing at frequencies as high as 50hz. Considering the box is allegedly "tuned" for frequencies as low as 35hz, that is unacceptable. (For reference - while frequencies of 20-35hz are largely inaudible, they are the frequencies you "feel" during explosions etc in movies)

I have owned 2 P3d412 subwoofers for a year now and they are great! This system is really loud! with the volume turned all the way up, its almost difficult to breathe in the car. I have a rockford punch p1000-1bd amplifier powering the two(1259 watt). they are in a dual-ported enclosure. not only do they rattle your car apart, but the sound quality is great! hits the highs just as well as the lows. The dual voice coils really make it easy to wire however you wish. great, great, great! rockford really makes some high quality stuff! Next system=Rockford POWER series subs.
Ps: if you are running more than one of these subs, i would recommend buying a capacitor to keep your lights from dimming.

An awesome choice whether you want to add one or multiple subwoofers to your vehicle. The P3 12-inch subwoofers can be used in either sealed or ported enclosures, plus you'll get the wiring flexibility of dual voice coils.

P3D212 Features
Speaker Construction
Custom 10-AWG nickel plated push terminals
Dual linear spider with embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads
Extended pole piece and bumped backplate
High excursion Poly-Ether-Ester surround
High-temp voice coil with spun-laced Nomex reinforcement collar
Kevlar Fiber reinforced semi-pressed paper cone and ABS/Acrylic dustcap
Protective PVC textured magnet cover
Reversible diamond cut cast aluminum trim ring
Vented spider cavity

Aluminum V/C Former Rockford Fosgate subwoofers use anodized aluminum voice coil formers that provide excellent heat dissipation. Unlike traditional plastic substitutions, aluminum acts like a heat-sink to quickly dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil. This keeps subwoofers cool during high SPL conditions.
CEA-2031 Power handling on Rockford Fosgate speakers conform to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means your speaker has the capacity to handle power under continuous damand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
Reversible Mounting Rockford Fosgate subwoofers can be mounted in either direction. A removable trim ring can be installed on the back or front side of the subwoofer frame. This gives the subwoofer a finished look regardless of mounting configuration.
Stitched Tinsel Leads Multipoint "periodic" stitched lead wire technique reduces the mass of each tinsel lead and spreads stress and strain over a greater area, significantly improving the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.
These stitched tinsel leads withstand extreme duty cycles, fatigue and high current that is critical to robust design.
Venturi-Effect Cooling The "Venturi-Effect" is created by gradually reducing the air-flow exhaust path area, which increases the air speed across the key thermal masses ofthe speaker motor parts maximizing cooling effectiveness.

Clark Synthesis TST429 Platinum Transducer Review

Clark Synthesis TST429 Platinum Transducer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is one of those products that you are either crazy about or just couldn't care less about. I recommend this product for Any kind of audio or A/V application. With the correct amp this product adds a dimension to the enjoyment of music you don't even know is missing until you turn it off.
No denying it is expensive especially when you consider you still have to buy an amplifier. However, I have tried other tactile transducers, notably the Buttkick LFE, that cost much less, and there really is no comparison. Please note, this is a review of the Clark Synthesis Platinum, their most powerful tactile transducer. The effect produced by the Clark Platinum unit is immense. It's akin to pulling the switch on a low RPM power drill only to find that you have more torque than you need, Lots more! The Buttkicker unit never approached the output of the Clark Platinum and under the same levels of amplification tended to bottom out. Furthermore, I have had 4 Clark Platinum units in use for over 3 years now, (one of them over 5 years), without a single problem. The Buttkicker eventually gave up the ghost; after two years of use there was finally no dicernable output from the unit, at amplification levels that had the Clark Platinum units practically bouncing the couch off the floor, (which I suppose should happen if a T-Rex walked into your multi-media room/theater). In defense of the Buttkicker company, they make what might be the best tactile tranducer amplifier around. The amp is comparitively inexpensive, has Lots of power, and the added versatility of user controllable frequency response filters. I have two Buttkicker amps powering two Clark Platinums (wired in parallel) each with the gain control set at a notch below half power. This gives the amp plenty of head room for those particullary troublesome passages.
I suggest you try it. If you don't like the effect, try it at differnt levels. If you still don't like the effect, well...you won't have any trouble getting rid of it somewhere but I can pretty much guarantee that someone in the family is going to like it so mount it into the frame of their favorite chair, (see Clark Synthesis website for mounting suggestions). They'll thank you.
