(More customer reviews)I have this on a boat running an kicker comp 10 inch infinite baffle. It plays loud and clean with plenty of control. One of the best class D sub amps I have used. Not as good sounding as an old school AB design (ORION, PPI). It runs for days without shutting down and won't kill your battery in 10 minutes.

(More customer reviews)I bought 2 of these subs 2 weeks ago and wow. the performance is amazing i have them hooked up to a rockford t 1500 1bd and in a ported box. the box is massive but if you have the trunk space definetly worth buying. these subs hit so hard my roof flexes. its hard to describe in words the bass impact that these subs produce but you feel every baseline in your back.

JL Audio Slash Series 500/5 - Amplifier - 5-channel Review

(More customer reviews)Well, I began about 10 years ago piecing my car stereo together. Within 4 years my stereo was complete. Oz audio component matrix speakers (amazing) on the floor (kick panels) and in the doors. Cerwin Vega's in back (decent). JL audio 12" sub in the back and finishing the job was this JL 5 channel amp running all the speakers but the vega's. Head unit was a uber nice nakamichi in-dash.
Thru the years this amp. has never overheated, never caused me any battery problems and just plain sounded astonishing. I've not had a single issue for six years. Coupled with my competition speakers the sound was out of this world. More than plenty clean powerful bass and the SQ of the fronts are just pure as a white dove. I've looked around for other 5 channel amp's but I just don't think anything really compares to this one.
If you want something to run a couple of 15's this probably isn't what you are looking for but if you want a GREAT all around system to sound perfect I would suggest giving this a whirl.

(More customer reviews)Works beautifully! Dramatically improved sound quality in conjunction with a nice amp. Was used in an 09 VW GTI w/ the premium package and Alpine MRV 1507 powering front components only.
Cons:
Have to use JL Volume Knob for optimal sound
Renders steering wheel volume controls useless (mute button still functions)
Aux audio input is non eq'd
I love this product and the additional volume knob doesn't really bother me.

JL Audio Slash Series 300/4 - Amplifier - 4-channel Review

(More customer reviews)This is a lot of amp for the money in a package that is dimensionally compact and easy to mount. I have owned Sony, Alpine, Alphasonik, and Kicker amps. It runs much cooler than the two 70x2 Kicker amps that it replaced and plays just as loud. The Kickers tended to go into thermal overload mode when cranked up. This one has never overloaded and turns on and off with no pops or clicks. Sound quality is good. My stepson has one, too, and his has performed flawlessly.
The caveat is that I began having problems with the right front channel cutting out under certain conditions. It was definitely a problem inside the amp. That is when I found that JL Audio does not honor warranties for their products not bought in bricks and mortar dealer stores. Their website does (or used to) state they do not support on-line sales. They were willing to fix the amp...for $120.00, worth the price given the quality of the amp. But, I now have invested in the amp all the money that I would have had I just gone to my local dealer 10 miles away.

JL AUDIO 12W6v2 - Car subwoofer driver - 12" Review

(More customer reviews)This is an interesting subwoofer. When I first recieved it, I thought to myself, why are low end frequencies so weak?! At the time the sub was enclosed in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box. I later had to take the sub out of the car after an accident (luckily it wasnt damaged), and had it laying around at home. I later got my hands on a great sub-box modeling software (winISD) and started playing around with settings. Made a custom 6cu ft box with the vented port tuned at 25hz, and man is it different. This sub has become a complete beast. At 30hz I went from from 106db all the way to 120db. 40hz is now 118db compared to 110db. I am convinced JL audio now has one the best subs around. BTW this is being power by a Samson studio amp outputing 600rms (peaks at 650ish) at 2ohms. So if you already have the sub, get a bigger box guys, HUGE diffence. Sorry about the long review, just wanted to share my experience with everyone. If I had to do it all over again, I think I wouldve done the 13w7 instead, sometimes I really wanna crank it up and start dropping pictures off the wall but the sub isnt powerful enough for that :P

JL Audio HD600/4 Class D 600 Watt 4 Channel Full Dash Range Car Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)After paying this much for an amp, my expectations were quite high.
The amp exceeded every expectation I had.
First- The build quality is absolutely top rate. The removable connectors fit very tightly. The removable control panel has a positive lock so it can not vibrate or make noise. The RCA inputs are of excellent quality. A nice touch is that you can mount the amp on either side. This was nice because in my installation it worked better to have the back side facing up.
The next thing I observed after the installation was how low the noise floor really was. I could not hear it. The noise I could barely hear was actually coming from the source deck. I measured the noise floor at -109 Db with an Audio Precision Portable 1. That is the best I have ever measured on a car audio device. The ground isolated RCA inputs are a nice touch. No ground loops are possible.
In my installation I am using it to power a set of JBL 660GTi speakers in bi-amp mode.
I was worried that the anti-clipping circuitry or being a full digital amp would color the sound. I had nothing to worry about. The sound is very smooth and the transients are sharp and clear, but not harsh. When driven hard, I could detect the anti-clipping circuitry activating, but it was not too objectionable.
I was surprised that the amp is quite efficient. The fuse size is only 50A, for a 600 watt RMS amp.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)Paying the little bit extra for this over similar amps can actually save you some money, since the balanced inputs let you use it with stock headunits that send out a balanced signal - usually Bose or other factory premium headunits (not that Bose is premium in anything but price, but I digress). It also accepts both low-level and speaker-level inputs, so purchasing a separate line-output converter is not necessary if you're running it off of a headunit that doesn't have low-level outputs. The signal sensing technology lets you get away without running a remote power signal if using the speaker-level inputs, which is particularly helpful if you are still running a stock headunit which doesn't have such a wire already.
So basically, this amp can be connected to any aftermarket or factory headunit without adding anything but power and audio signal wires.
As with any amp, make sure you measure the dimensions for where you intend to mount this.

(More customer reviews)I bought this amp and had it paired with the JL 12w6v2. I carefully considered this sub/amp combo since it was going to be a first system that I put into my car. This combination maybe a little too much for my 4 door sedan, but it was well worth the money spent. The amp itself remains relatively cool under conditions of hard use. If your looking for one of the best amps that your money can I would go for this one. However, if you don't need a lot of bass consider something else. You could probably get a package installed for this much. I hope this helps who ever reads it.
