(More customer reviews)I bought these about two months ago & for the size, they make a big sound! Now, let's be real here. They don't sound as detailed or loud as floor standing speakers, or larger bookshelf speakers. Whithout the sub, they sound pretty small. That's because they are. But if you want some great looking & sounding surround sound system in a box, this is a great choice. I have this in a small living room set up. I had my Sony STR-DH710 7.1-channel A/V Receiver with 6 HD Inputs [3D Compatible]calibrate the speakers & viola! Excellent home theater sound. I plugged my iPod into it & listen to a wide variety of music, from MF Doom to Leonard Cohen & points in between. To my ears sound better than Bose (I think they're overrated, anyway).
They're small enough to not be an eyesore to most girlfriends/ wives. A BIG plus!
