(More customer reviews)After few weeks of online reviews & discussions, bought this Mirage MX 5.1 speakers along with Yamaha RX-V867 receiver as a bundle package. After the initial break-in period, the speakers literally blowed me away in both movie / music experience. At this price, this bundle package is a steal & well worth the hard earned money. The MX speakers are incredibly compact & the MM-6 subwoofer performs beyond expectations on my medium sized living room! Even though the sub doesn't shake the wall, the quality is good enough for my likes.
It takes time to get used to omnipolar way of audio(non-directional), but once the ears get used, no way looking back to directional speakers. When I listened the "Yanni live performance" 5.1 dvd, the system simply virtually put me at a live soundstage without a distraction of speaker placements.
The speaker package doesn't come with the cables, so be prepared to have one set ready. I ordered my 14awg cables from monoprice.
Yamaha RX-V867 Receiver has been a pleasure to use. Using DLNA (ethernet connection) connected to home network router, it quickly recognized my desktop in the network & I was able to browse/ play the audio files from my pc directly from receiver using the remote. The browsing could be done both using the TV as well as the in-built display in the receiver.
Also could browse through hundreds of internet radio stations & bookmark the favorite ones.
The yamaha receiver is a 7.2 ready & not a 7.1 as mentioned in the title of this package.
I definitely recommend this bundle package to anyone who likes compact systems package (MX 5.1) with quality sound experience.
