(More customer reviews)I am a Field Engineer, which means I work in varied conditions and connect to my company's server via an aircard. The field office is usually a metal trailer, which muffles cell phone signals (which are pretty weak, considering the locations where I work). I bought this signal booster/amplifier system to improve my aircard connectivity at job sites, and it really works! I stick the antenna on the roof of the trailer, run the cable inside, and hang the amplifier and cradle on the wall near my computer. It boosted the signal at the last work location from one bar to a full five bars. Here's the cool thing - it worked not only for me, but for everyone in the trailer. Aircard signals (we use Verizon) and cellphone signals (I have AT&T) both were improved. I did have to buy a AC/DC adapter to power the booster, since it only comes with a DC plug, but I will order Wilson's AC power supply in this kit: Wilson Electronics Home,Office Accessory Kit with Window Mount and AC Power Supply for the Signal boost Amplifier.
My initial test with this system in my car wasn't so great, but after the field office success, I'm going to give it another try. Will update my review if I get different results.
